why counterbalance wellbeing?
Where mess is welcome.
At Counterbalance Wellbeing, therapy is grounded in safety, creativity, and deeply trauma-informed care. Drawing on a range of evidence-informed approaches, including art psychotherapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Clay Field (a sensorimotor modality), clients are supported to gently access, process, and integrate experiences that may be difficult to articulate through words alone.
Integrating somatically informed and creative therapeutic processes with advanced clinical knowledge in trauma and developmental neuroscience, Counterbalance Wellbeing supports the mental health and wellbeing of children, young people, and adults seeking emotional regulation, integration, and meaningful, sustained change. Therapeutic work is carefully paced, relationally attuned, and responsive to the individual, engaging both body and mind to support the processing of memories, thoughts, emotions, and embodied responses.
At Counterbalance Wellbeing, we recognise the powerful role of art psychotherapy, EMDR, and Clay Field in fostering insight, self-awareness, and psychological healing. Through creative and experiential processes, clients are invited to explore aspects of their internal and external worlds that may otherwise remain outside of conscious awareness. In doing so, individuals can develop greater understanding, strengthen their sense of self, and move toward enhanced emotional wellbeing, relational connection, and personal growth.
